Neidermeyer to Flounder: Is That a PLEDGE PIN!?!

Thu Apr 17, 2008 at 10:49:50 AM PDT

Once again Obama's patriotism is being questioned because he doesn't always wear a flag lapel pin. It's frustrating to have to watch this non-issue be brought up over and over again. Do you ever find yourself having ideas, but not the skills to make them real? I'm kinda new to this diary thing, so my apologies if I'm off-base here. Any YouTube wizards out there?

Throughout this whole "lapel pin" nontroversy, I keep thinking of that scene in National Lampoon's Animal House where the ROTC guy called Neidermeyer is spitting in the face of Flounder over his forgetting to wear a pledge pin. "Is that a pledge pin!?!", he spits out, along with other insults.

I wish I was a YouTube wizard. I wish I knew someone who could take that scene and artfully interweave it with clips of Obama defining what patriotism is. And maybe to include the talking heads who keep asking Obama where his pledge pin is.

Maybe it's a bad idea. I don't know. But I sure would love to see the right person tackle this lapel pin nonsense and throw some mockery right back in the faces of the faux-patriots who keep dishing it out over and over again. If you think it's a good idea, steal it, please!
